Tranny swap, PCM, engine mounts, and much more. If you have the skill to swap a 302 for a 4.6 then you have the skill to fix your head gasket.

And, the head gasket is about ten thousand times easier to do than the swap you have mentioned. Also, it is a crazy swap, that would be smog illegal among other things.

You could fix the head gaskets for alot cheaper too don't waste your time on a pointless swap.

Another thing you could do, is find a good low mileage (under 100K motor) on Craigslist or car-part.com. You could swap out the motor in a weekend. A head gasket would take a week end to get it apart, 2 weeks waiting on your heads, and then a weekend putting it together.

No you can pull the heads on that engine in a good morning send them to a machine shop at a local parts house depending on what they find you can have them back in a day or 2 throw em back on and your done. Depending on how many miles you have and how long your keeping the truck depends on what to do. If your going to have it for awhile don't go waste all that time on a junk yard motor you don't know the maintenance history on.
