hi ok i have a 1998 with the 5.4l in it with 170000 miles on it and its 4x4 i have done a few bolt in things to get more power but i know im not really going to get to much with out diving in to the motor so i was thinking about buying a wrecked lightning and pulling the motor and dropping it in to my truck can i do this and how will it work with the 4x4

 

Your transmission might not like the extra torque.

You would probably have to swap the computer, the wiring harness, and transmission as well!!! Would be sweet. I have thought about that in my 03 Fx4, but it would be a lot of work!!!!

 

ok thanks i was planning on swapping out all the electronics but i didn't know if i could keep my trans and upgrade the valvebody and do i shift kit but either way its going to be a fun job
