I have an 05 f150 and mine hesitates too a bit when i hit the gas. When im doing a U-Turn under a freeway and hit the gas, it'll hesitate a bit. I'm thinking its just the transmission trying to catch up to your engine. When you're stepping on the gas, the transmission needs to shift down. The lagging that you're feeling is your transmission going into a lower gear.

As for the knocking, I have no idea. Someone told me that it's because of the fuel injectors, but i know carburetor engines do that too

If your oil pressure and all the good stuff isnt dropping then maybe try putting 93 octane in it and see if it still does it. Possibly a spark knock.

Good day,

I would also clean your MAFS... Most common problem I've run into with hesitation off the line and motor knock combined...

Good luck!!

Cheers!!
