Default Code 173 Hego always rich

Hi guys1500hrs..
Code 173... what could that be... O2sensor or the MAP? The engine runs a bit "chunky" (is that the right word for stutter?)

Back on stage again!2210hrs
Further surfing and studying the web made me wiser.. Hego is the O2 sensor... Thjat has to be changed every 60000miles. That one of mine is definetely a very old one. When I was at USAcar garage, the bloke who tested my truck said that the O2 wasn't to good anymore, but at that time I didn't know anything about sensors! We here do name an O2 "Lambdasensor' , so HEGO "Heated Exhaust Gas Oxygen" is total unknown here. Now I know......... Tomorrow I'm gonna order for a MAP and a Hego; brand new... O yessss!

greetzzz Ton

Ton thats some kool translation you got Assuming you call a O2 'Lambdasensor' cause it helps control the Lambda curve in the fuel/air strategy.
Change the O2 and give us a report on how it went

Hey TorkumGoodmorning!
Next week I will obtain the sensors; they had to be shipped from America.
At this very moment are my wheels at our paintshop; last night I removed the tires from the rims and when I get them back, new "rubber shoes' are waiting there for me.
I keep you posted and I shall post a pic from the truck ( I've lifted the back 4 inches and the front 2inch) (What a truck man!!)

the clock tells me that I have to go to work

Hello Everybody and especially Good Old Bill
Today I´ve swapped my MAP and HEGO )Lambdasensor. The truck is running great now. Good start and keeps on runnng at idle. It was a long way.
First a new TPSsensor ,then a new LPG injection ,new valvesprings, new valves )because they were leaking) new headlights and at least new Lambda and MAP..

A fine truck... proud to have one A ´Dutch American affair`

What was the meaning of `Going Dutch?

"Going Dutch", that is an expression we use on a date when the female has to pay for the meal. I use it all the time, married 43 years, she still pays. Ha Ha, bet me Mable!

Glad you have everything all ironed out (fixed) especially the Lamdasensor.

Had a conversation wih another member from your side of the Atlantic Ocean, he said time is keeping him from being more active. I, being a dumby, am thinking make more time. Actually, with English being a second language, its got to be tough on you guys. I tip my hat to you both, and enjoy all conversations as I am sure other members do also.

Greetz to you Ton!

Goodmorning Bill That's strange my wife also pays all the bills (No Bill, not everybody with the name Bill)
Yeah , I'm very happy with the result. On page 154 from "showing the love of your 789 gen in the 1987-97 section I've posted new pics from the truck.
I do like it as well to conversate Bill and thanks for the compliment I'm 50 and still improving my English. Thefunny thing is, I've worked some years with two Scottish blokes and when I speak English some said "he are you Scottish?"I answer then "he, do you see a kilt grinnn fat grinn.
I think I go on proceed my sleep; its 635 am and had to pee and a cuppa tea.

talk to you later

regards Ton

Good evening everybody Today I swapped my Hall sensor ( ignition) the result is : quicker and aggresive cold start, farr better acceleration and lower fuel consumption. There'was still a light engineshudder at 1600revs. Now it's a smooth running truck. It took me 7 months but now I've learned to understand an American truck and were all the components are for and what they do.

Time to hit the sack now!!
