Default Asking advice on replacing coils and plugs

I have a 97 5.4 liter with 150k miles. the check engine light came on, and codes indicate cylinder 2 misfire and ignition coil failure.
A local shop will replace the failed coil and plug for about $300. I wonder if I should have all of the coils and plugs replaced at this time. it would only be an additional hour of labor, but another $300 in parts. I'm thinking I should go ahead and at least get all new plugs, because I think the original plugs are still installed. I'm not sure how long the life of a coil is. What's the risk that I may experience more failures in the next 2 years if I don't replace them all right now?

Thanks!

I had one coil go, and simply replaced it only. If I have another go soon, I will replace them all, but there is no need to.
My plugs were the original with 100,000 miles on them, it was time for them to go.No need to replace your plug or plugs, unless they are worn out.

You can replace ALL of the coils and plugs for about $150 and about 2 hours time.
$300 for 1 coil and plug, they should be ashamed of themselves. It's about 15 minutes of work.

Default Where do you get your parts?

When I was checking price of these ignition coils, I found them ranging from $45 - $65 each. The platinum plugs were about $8 each.
So I figured replacing all would cost between $400 - $550.

My dad is having the same problem with his 03 fx4. I just helped him replace a COP yesterday. He just called me today and said he got another check engine light after the truck began to miss. He's changed #8 and #4 previously and #7 yesterday. Today its #3.

He just bought the truck and it had another motor put in it, same year and model that had only 30k mi on it. Just trying to figure out why they are failing back to back. I don't mean to hijacking the thread but its a similar situation and I know we all hate reading repeats. Thanks for any advice.
