Don't completely understand your ?? but all the blocks are the same

the efi heads are different from the carb heads on the intake and exhaust ports, old school headers wont bolt up to efi heads, and efi intake wont bolt up to a carbed set of heads

wiring harness? don't think there the same, I do know you want an earlier model wiring harness B/C it's easier to wire up with how the dizzy is. plus theres a whole lot less things you need on the 87-(i believe)91 harness.

But if you find a motor thats cali equiped '97 460 obdII get it. ( I'll buy it from you) there really rare and I could stuff it in my big truck and get it inspected legally...

Only the blocks are the same.Heads and intakes are different. There won't be much wiring on the 70s block so just use your late model wiring.

ok yeah bc me and a buddy were thinking and he mention that maybe a 80's model 460 wiring might be the same as my 88 f150 except for the computer
