Default 3v vs 2v

I will be purchasing a 2002 f150 5.4L Triton according to wikepedia not the best reliable source. The 2002 f150 should have the 2v 5.4L Triton. In 2004 they went to a 3V with more horsepower. Question is the 2V version still A Single Overhead Cam? And what are the differences they changed to gain the extra horsepower in 04?

Thanks

Jared.

Yes, still a single overhead cam. They changed out the cylinder heads in 2004 to add more HP, and added an extra valve.

Yes, a 2v is a SOHC. They got more power from a better computer processing system and WAY better flowing heads.
