Alright i have a 1996 f150 with a 302 and its started making a sucking noise like a vacum cleaner/turbo and running really crappy i was told it could be the smog pump i dont know anything about these engines i had a cummins and down graded to this it seems like a mistake but if any one knows if this pump can be deleted or anything any help would be greatly apreciated. Thanks

 

Thinking the noise is from a bearing in the belt system, a smog pump could make the noise but neither an idler bearing or pump should have any effect on the engines poor running. Could you describe further?

 

A96 should have mad sensor check to see if the intake tube came off after the sensor. Without more info can't really tell you much more. Sorry
