Default 2010 4.6 engine

Just curious, is the 4.6 in a 2010 a good engine. I have heard both from people. Thanks all.

Don't know about the 2010, but my 2004 has been pretty diehard. Lost a coil once, but that was all.

i had a 2004 stx 4.6L and now have 08 4.6L and i love them. actually i have heard nothing but good things about them(other then a few small things that happened to any vehicle) and seen tons of them go 200k+ miles. i will always choose 4.6 over 5.4 anyday. just my 2cents

I know a guy that is on a 2 year plan (means he gets a new f150 every 2 years)
and he said that his 2010 4.6 would rape his 2008 f150 with the 5.4. my family has owned both the 4.6 and a 5.4 (2004 and 2005 both 2x4) and the 5.4 was a little faster but I would still rather have the 4.6 because the 5.4 mad that cam phaser noise.

I think the intake manifold is full of problems on all the 4.6L I love fords and have driven nothing but fords from rangers to broncos to crown vics. This 4.6l is a great engine BUT the odds are the intake will fail on you. Mine just failed with only 70k miles on it. Never driven rough and taken care of like it was my only child

I've got a 2010, but only 7000 miles. No problems yet. Also mine is the 4.6 2 valve. There is a 2010 4.6 3 valve that makes more horsepower and is mated to the new 6 speed transmission. That is probably the one that someone mentioned being as quick as the 5.4 if that is true I don't know. But I love my 4.6 2 valve.

i believe the 3v says 4.6L 3valve on the air intake and the 2v doesnt have anything on the intake.. or just look to see if the trans is 6 spd auto or 4 spd..
