hi im hoping someone can help me out
i have a 96 f150 4x4 with a 4.9 it has 118,000 miles
its throwing 3 sometimes 4 codes and i have till the end of the month to pass inspection
the only physical problem is it stalls in reverse and the low foward gears when at a dead stop especially on a slight incline i fixed it before with just a fuel filter and it started again the codes never cleared while it was fine

p0420 catalyst system efficiency below threshold bank 1

p0174 system too lean bank 2

and sometimes p1443 evaporative emmision system control valve slow or no flow

Most of the time with a P0420 code you suspect the catalytic converter needs replacement. I ran across this on Youtube.
I don't know what think of this but here you go.

p0174 system too lean bank 2 Try cleaning your MAF. Make sure you use a MAS/MAF cleaner.

P1443 means you need to service your evaporative control system, cleaning sometime takes care of the problem otherwise you purchase a purge valve repair kit which replaces the hoses, and electrical parts.

yea i figured the cat was shot i removed the pipe to fix the leaky manifolds and somehow i must have damaged it because it rattles

as for the p0174 i tried to clean the MAF with contact cleaner it was all i had and it said leaves no residue so i said why not the MAF was replaced last year before i got the truck

where do i get the purge valve repair kit is that a ford kit?

replaced the front cat the insides fell apart, and got blown into the second cat clogging it
so cleaned everything out
so far so good no lights
