Angry sputtering when stopping

HELLO, Iam a newbe with a problem. My 150, when coming to a stop acts like it wants to stall. But dosent, just sputters and feels like it. Any ides on the subject? Its a f-150 2001 short bed v-6 auto. Thanks onegun

A couple of ideas, first verify the operation of the EGR. It cannot be on during idle speeds, stalling will occur. Second, disconnect the IAC and what is the idle speed? Get back to us if you are not familiar with the above mentioned items.

Thanks for the info, I think the IAC is sticking. Because sometimes it runs good and sometimes it almost stalls. Will keep working on it.

anybody else have this problem, the odomiter goes on and off but the speedo and everything else is ok?

Use the search button for solder joints in the instrument cluster. Is your engine fixed?

The odometer is a whole seperate problem. sputtering on idle can also be a problem of the vacuums assembly check out the 90degree elbow at the end going into the intake. It is common for it to over time wear and crack
