Loud engine tapping noise-just pulled off road
I have a 2006 f150, in transit for an hour across FL. I heard a pop and immediate loud tapping. Pulled off the road opened hood at idle and tapping became louder. Any ideas, before the tow truck comes??? I want to go in to the shop and not be taken. I'm in the middle of no where. Help anyone?

tapping noise
Hey thanks man, im in lake wales and the tow truck came. The driver was a retired mechanic and said it was a bad plug. Confirmed bad spark plug from the garage machanic who's an old school country boy family run biz. Cost will be around $200.00.....so far.
