Default engine overheating

after two times at the repair shop and spending around 500 dollars for new radiator then new radiator cap and i found what was causing it to overheat. after they installed the radiator, thermostat, pressure test, new coolant i drove 5000 miles then overheated, then they put new radiator cap on and i drove around 2000 miles then overheated, had it towed home 120 dollars.the fix was to remove the coolant flushing tee that i installed in the heater hose, replaced the hose with a new one and that fixed the problem.the system was drawing in air through the cap on the flushing tee and causing air pockets and the coolant would stop circulating.

Sorry to hear about your trouble and expense, thanks for your input about the flushing tee. Sucking air is definitely a NO NO. I hate to see any short cut methods in doing repairs, like "miracle fixes" in a can. Buying trouble is the only result. But those A-holes get away with it at our expense. Nice going bud and welcome to the forum.
