3.7L V-6 Ford work truck
Hi, I am looking at a work truck, 2017 leftover with the 3.7 V-6. I am concerned about power. This truck is a cab/chassis with a utility type, LowPro body which weighs about 2350 lbs before we put all of our tools and materials in it.
Similar to the SL style body seen here : https://www.readingbody.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/ReadyVanSL-web.pdf
I wonder if there is anyone out there that has a similar truck with this engine and how they like it.
Comparing it to a pick up truck isn't really fair based on the constant load of the utility body.
Thanks in advance.

2017 should've been 3.5 V6, not 3.7. Need to determine what the payload rating is for the truck after bed is removed, add up all the weights of everything you're adding and see if it will even work. As for power, it's not going to win any drag races, but should be good enough.

3.7 soft low end grunt
Love my 3.7 but modest low end torque . Upgraded to 4.10 Ford Performance Diff from 3.73 which helped somewhat . Towed 5000 pound tractor/trailer just fine . That said I'd get an engine with well over 300 ft pounds torque if using as loaded work truck. 3.7 would get worked too hard if any hills since it has 278 ft.pounds max torque at about 4,000 rpm .
