Yes, mixed, inside the perimeter freeway driving.
If stuck in stop and go traffic where the truck never has the chance to get into 5th or 6th, the mileage is not so good. Expect >15 and <17.5.
Get it out where the transmission can get into overdrive and lock up, then 20.5 to 21 or so.
I don't expect to see more than that until the vehicle is broken in.

I've been intrigued by the few 3.7L posters because I was all set to get the 5.0L but am thinking a 3.7L will be enough for my needs.
I realize that it is only 2 MPG difference but over 10 years and 150k, that's a lot of fuel.
Hope you see the 23 they're talking about once you hit the open road after break in.

I was the same way, and I just for once in my life decided to go with what I needed and not what I wanted. I guess that's growing up, huh? I only have 150 miles on her so far, but I am very pleased with my choice of motor.

Someone say, pics?
BTW, one thing that makes this 3.7 so sweet is the availability of the Custom Package. It is a really good deal with the wheels, running boards, interior color, interior trim upgrade and exhaust tip for around $750. It basically builds a 3.7 FX2 on the cheap without the STAR WARS console trim and leather. (ignore the Baby seat, it's just the way I roll these days)

Keep the MPG #'s coming. I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a base XL 3.7L. I'm selling my wife's V-10 Excursion, giving her my 2010 F150 Super Crew and getting myself a stripo for commuting and running around.

1Medic,
Yours would probably do better due to the light weight and you could get 3.55 gearing. IMHO the engine has enough power and torque to do well with 3.55's, although I like the way it pulls with 3.73's.
Took a 140 mile round trip, mostly 55 to 70 on the highway and was at 22. Once back near the house (City) it dropped back to 19.5 to 20.
IMHO the incentives on the XLT's make it kind of a no brainer over the STX. I've not seen any XL's except for fleet trucks.
Wish more 3.7 owners were reporting their experiences.

You got any pics of the engine bay?
