Default Spring Compressors

I want to lower the front of my F150 about 1 to 2 inches. Has anybody used spring compressors (metal clamps and bolts) to attain this effect. Does it work well or not?

Works but it is a horrible idea. It screws up the spring, compressing it in one spot over time. Also since you have the "clamp" between two coils it can cause those coils to bottom out and make your ride very crappy. There are many other bad things about them as far as ride and lagistics.

Another side of why they are a bad idea is that they break very often. So you have shrapnel flying around you brake lines and abs wires if you have front abs.

All of this is if there is enough room between coils to get clamps in between.

I did this when i was 16... But its not something you should do to a nice truck... I did it on a 200,000 mile beater... and it was a rough ride.
