I got the 4x4 mostly for snow, but I do go on dirt and gravel roads sometimes. My 98 Malibu handled the roads fine, so I think if I do a 2/4 or so, the truck should be fine.

So stock is going to be the most comfortable ride? **** it then.. Dropping it.

If done correctly the truck will ride as good dropped as it does at stock height.

Lowering properly will never effect ride quality to the negative. Springs might be slightly stiffer but spindles are a better way to drop and doesn't change the ride. In the rear you should keep factory ride and just do a flip kit or drop hangers and/or shackles.

If you do it correctly ride will be stock and handling will be improved.
