Default Shocks question

Im going to drop my truck 3/4 its a 2001 supercrew i know that drop shocks are the way to go but i would like to know if i could still ride on my stock shocks for a while or are they necessary immediately when i drop it. i know the ride quality is going to decrease but basically i would like to know if the ride quality is going to get significally worse or not get affected much and if im taking a risk of messing something up with my stock shocks. thanks

Just get the drop shocks while you're into the truck. The stocks will probably bottom out and make the ride even more unpleasant.

Sorry for the late reply thanks for the info I'm going to lower it and ride like that while i get money available for lowering shocks. i read on a sports truck website that you do not have to replace shocks if you are dropping up to 4 inches but it is still recommended to do so. Again thanks
