Default shackle drop

Just thought I would share my experience installing 2" drop shackle on my 2018 rcsb 2.7.The upper bolts are difficult to get out and in but it is possible. After installing shackle the pinion angle was 7% down to the shaft.Ride had vibration especially around 30 mph.I removed the overload leaf and bolted on a 6% shim to raise the pinion angle up to 1% of drive shaft angle, perhaps a 5% shim would have been better. The truck now drives vibration free.I built an air system to power rear air shocks also to inflate all the leaky tires Im surrounded by.

With only 2 leafs you must get axle wrap like a MFer.

So far no axle wrap,2 leafs and the overload are all it came with.I had a f250 cc with a thick multi leaf pack that would rap up and hop all over the place.I fixed that with home made traction arms.Have not had this one on a boat ramp trying to pull 4000 lbs of boat.I have a torque arm kit that i might install.

How much actual drop did you get with the shackles and then the leaf?

2 " a lot of work for so little gain.Im thinking of adding 2" de arched rear springs and drop front 2"with lower control arms or maybe remounting the lower end of the front shock lower in the stock lower control arm.

On my 2016 2wd I had my rear springs de-arched almost 3". It worked really well and rode the same.
