So you are running a maxtrac shackle only in the rear?

I guess my next question is how badly it affects payload and towing capacity.

I am going to do a 1.5" or 2" drop shackle on mine, now that I got my new rims and tires installed

That's still to be determined but I don't anticipate towing or loading anything too heavy with any regularity.
If that becomes an issue I could add one of the airlift systems.
I installed one on a '97 that I lowered with a "C" notch and it worked very well.

the reason I ask is because I plan on towing a boat with the truck. I think it should still be ok. I just dont want to have an issue

Can you grab a pic of how the shackle sits at ride height?

1. Four wooden shims (stacked are 3/4" thick)
2.Shims stacked between top of leaf spring and bottom of bed support
3.Shackle and bed support.
Shackle doesn't contact bed support unless truck is raised off the ground with axle drooping
