Leaf spring question
I just put 2" Maxtrac lowering shackles on my 17 platinum 4x4 and I removed the block a year ago. But when I installed the shackles i was same measurements on each side of the rear and I measured after the install and it only lowered the rear 1" on drivers side and 3/4" on passenger side. Thats a little weird isn't it? I also installed a 2.5 degree axle shim but that isn't maybe 1/4" thick I would think. Any info on that problem would be great. And I'm wanting it a little lower so somebody said remove a leaf spring. Will that hurt anything with towing? And if I did remove a leaf which one do I remove? Thanks

You and I are probably in the same boat.
I have the DJM lowering shackles on my 4x4 with the blocks removed. I towed my trailer for the first time this weekend, and noticed I was into the TImbrens, and on a rough road, it was a bit jarring. I as well am looking to see what step to take next.
The springs seem to have enough rate, The issue seems to be travel. I was wondering what the 2x4 guys do for towing, I am assuming that they have less travel than a 4x4.
I can add air bags, I can add roadmaster springs, or?? raise the truck a notch?
How do guys with the really low trucks tow? I see it done... Notched frame?
