Best way to lower a 15-20 f150?

So I read up on the spindles. It says:
most 20 OEM rims will fit
OEM 22” rims will NOT fit (found that odd)
it also says I cannot run a wheel wider than 9 inches and my rims will be 9.5
may require ball joint trimming
seems like this is a no-go.

Hi all, just picked up a 2016 Lariat crew and looking to lower. Appreciate the info in this thread as I was unsure what kit to get. Looks like I'm going to go with the Maxtrac system, but can't decide between the 2/4 or 3/5. I currently will be running a 20" factory wheel and tire from a 22 Lariat, but would like to go 22 or 24 in the future. BigDadsMoto, thanks for the link, went and checked out your truck. Are those 20x10 wheels? Almost look like they would hit the fender on a large bump, no?

They are 20x10 but are a fairly shallow offset so they don’t poke past the fenders. I’ve had it loaded with 5 people and a bed full of stuff and haven’t had any rubbing issues.
I do wish the front was slightly lower though as I like a little rake for the look.

Thanks, good to know. Looks awesome. I dropped an f350 in the past and the wheels I bought were too wide and I had issues with the tire hitting the fender so trying to avoid that happening again, Nice to hear I can fit a set of 10" wide wheels if I wanted, What is your offset so I know what not to exceed?

nope. It’s been several months with no issues. I don’t tow any big trailers or anything though so the brakes just get normal use.

I did a lot of research on this last month to lower my 2018 2WD CCSB. The Ridetech is almost twice as much as most other solutions. I ended up with the Maxtrac 2/4 kit with Spindles. I like spindle drops more than new springs/shocks for the front because the truck will ride just like stock. I'm not thrilled with the Maxtrac rear shocks so I will probably upgrade those...
