Default Back end is loose...

Not sure if I am in the correct forum but, I am looking for advice on how to tightenup my trucks rear end.

I installed a Ford Perfoemance 2" drop shackle kit in the truck a few months ago and I absolutely love the look.

Prior to and after the shackle kit, I have noticed that when I go around corners and especially if I go over a hump/bump in the road, the rear of the truck likes to move all over the place. Anything over 35-40 mph gets really squirrley.

Any suggestions?

Swaybar? If so, what size?

Thanks,

D

Swaybar and Bilstein 5100 shocks. Yes, stock size replacement shocks if you only did 2" shackles. I had that set-up for a while, it rode great and no more back end kick-out.

This is awesome. I just started a thread on the same subject. I have the lowering shackles too and now with a tune the wheelhop is crazy and with traction control off the truck goes sideways, which is super scary.

I picked up some Fox 2.0 Street Performance shocks, going to install next Friday.

I bought on Amazon thinking I was buy ing 2, turns out the aholes only had them listed as singles. Who TF sells/buys shocks in singles? You don't change them in singles, you don't mix shock sizes/brands, why sell them in singles?

Stupid and dangerous.

i went the same route but I picked the 2wd version: Fox 980-24-657 Fox 2.0 Performance Series Smooth Body IFP Shock.

Yes they sell them individual. Found them for 250 for the pair with free shipping.

This is what I bought, hopefully it is just a new part number for the same item.

this is the 4x4 one which also works for 2wd too. I went with the other one since I’m 2wd and the same drop shackle. I saw on the 3stage site under the questions that for the drop shackle they said to go with the 2wd version. But I’m sure they’ll both work.

A lot of confusion out there on these shocks as to which way to mount them. Finally got it answered that they can mount either way due to the IFP.

Man, I hope I dont have to go thru all the trouble of returning these damn shocks to get another one. I got this p/n from the Fox site.

yeah I was in the same boat. I actually had gotten the Bilstein but after seeing you went to fox route I cancel my order and went the same route. There’s a bunch of part numbers. Look at the questions link on the site and search for lower/drop and see their response: https://www.stage3motorsports.com/985-24-029-2-2009-2014-F150-4WD-Fox-2-0-IFP-Rear-Shocks.html

nevermind. They said they’re discontinued. I hope I’m not getting some old stuff.
