You are correct. The # matches up to a 4.56 ratio. I bought them a while back and was told they were 3.73. I will look at them closer later on to see if there are #'s on them to verify the ratio. My apologies I never picked up on it before. I was also told they were new so it was an oversight on my part.

 

They are 3.73 gears. I don't know why they are in these boxes. They have never been used.
