Default Would this camper shell fit?

Looking to get a top for my truck, it snows all the time up here and I'd like something to keep on it in the winter and when traveling.

Anyone know how these change gas mileage?

Thank you.

No it won't fit.

You might lose a mpg because of weight.
You might gain a mpg because of aerodynamics.

Either way the change will be marginal.

Damn that thing is ugly, look around on Craig's list I see them all the time for our trucks. I got one for mine and it was even the right color, oh ya and it was free.

Free damn! There are about 3 for our trucks in my area. $500-800 though.

That looks like a 96 back Ford shell on the Chevy. 97-03s have a small curve at the front bottom lip for the Super & regular cabs. The Ford shells are too wide for the 98 up Chevy boxes. I have a shell on mine and use it all winter long. In the summer I put on a hard shell tonneau cover. The mileage actually is just a tad better with the shell than without on my truck. It weights about 120 lbs, but isn't noticeable. It just gives you more side to fight with the winds, when they are strong. otherwise, it is a nice fit to our trucks.

Thanks. I'll hold out and find one for our years. How did those tow mirrors work for you Bill?
