Default Wiring problem

Ok, so I posted a new thread a few days ago about the fuel gauge always reading full, and still haven’t gotten any responses. So I figured i would start a different thread with hopes of help.

Yesterday I spent some time putting new tail light housings on my truck, and was trying to figure out why my tail light works, but not the turn signal or brake light. It’s only on the left side. I found the wiring was broke that went to my license plate lights, and cut the plug off and wired them in without that plug. Those work now. I know it’s not a ground issue because if it was, my trailer plug, and other rear lighting would not work. I ordered the pig tail for the brake light. Just curious if anyone has experienced these issues, and from the rust issues I know these trucks can have, I am sure it has happened. Also, any help with the fuel gauge issue is appreciated.
