More for show than anything else.
I have the lariat so it has fogs down on the bumper so they should be brighter then.

All depends on the bulbs you use. I took a bumper off an Expedition that had the fogs built in, but no bulbs, and the plastic lens shows signs of wear and clouding. Got a set of 9006 LEDs off Ebay. All the pre-wire allows you to do is switch them off at the panel, if you have the right assembly. Yours will be brighter if you go with Halogen or even HIDs. You could even go with Amber LEDs. Depends on your taste and the look you're after.

You might want to try one of those headlight "restorer" kits - about $10 or so at an auto parts store. Sure beats buying an aftermarket set, or a used one ($100 on Craigslist - which were worse than mine!).

I've had mine for a year. Maybe more. There is a gap on the side of the vehicle between the outer grill and light but its not very noticeable. If you didn't have the fogs prewired how'd you end up getting the fogs in?

LEDs are very low power. Each 9006 assembly consumes only 0.8 watts (halogens use 35 or 55W; therefore they need a dedicated, fused circuit), so I simply tapped into the parking light circuit on each side. I might get fancy later and run a switch wire through the firewall, but for now, I use them as running lights that come on with the parking lights.
