Default Wire Question

Does anyone know the wires that go to the dome light? Going to try and add some LEDs to light up floor when door is opened and go off when door is shut. I don't know if I need to install a relay or not. Any help would be appreciated in a big way. Thanks, KP.

I think that was going to the door handles on the outside. I could be mistaken, I was just looking for it today. I don't think it was inside the cab. I have put several other wire related subjects on here though. I was going to put some lights behind the grill but they turned out to be too small. I have learned some about wiring since I've been a member, I'm glad to say!

Could've sworn it was you, nobody else types in blue.

Under the passenger side kick panel is a black w/ blue stripe wire, #16 in this connector, that's the power wire for the dome. If you wire the positive wires from the LEDs to that and then ground them to a dash support, or green bolt, then they'll work like the dome.

Caught! I'm sorry, I looked back through "my post" and I found this very picture. Thanks for putting up with me. Memory lose is one of the side effects from some of my meds. I'll try to remember to double check before I post. Thanks again!

How many LED lights do you think I could put on this circuit?

As long as you keep splicing into the first wire tap you make on the dome light circuit, you can put lots. LEDs take very little current to emit light. You can put tons of led strips in PARALLEL with the dome light circuit. You cannot put the LEDs in series or else your LEDs will glow very dim.
Wire the strips in parallel to each other AND to the dome light circuit to ensure sufficient voltage for your lights.

If you are unsure about the difference between series circuits and parallel circuits, google will answer those questions. I could spend all day talking about the difference!
