When i turn my truck off it makes a winding noise from the engine like something is still rotating slowly. Ive tried listening but cant narrow it down. Its the 5.4 Thanks for any input.

Rest your hand on the EVR solenoid while hearing the noise, - that's what your hearing. No worries, normal.

Is this what you are talking about? Cause it sounds like whirling noise.

No, that is the EGR valve. Follow the green hose coming off of that nipple on the EGR valve, and you'll run into this (circled), the EVR solenoid.

Yup, that's it. The solenoid is purging vacuum after shutdown. That vacuum is used to open the popet in the EGR valve during cruising speeds upon command from the executive or PCM command. Which assists emissions and nets better economy. Often, they will play a tune when purging.
