When I want to spray my windshield, I have to hold in the lever for about 10 to 15 seconds and then water will spray out. Do I have a hole on the water line and it's allowing the water to flow back to the tank when not in use?

 

To start have someone operate the washer while you inspect the washer bottle and lines coming up to the sprayer for any leaks or breaks.....you might be able to spot a problem area.....
