Question Will a programmer help an old truck?

I reciently purchased a 2000 screw, 4x4, 5.4l with 200000km on it. Original motor and tranny. The motor, tranny and 4x4 work great. No leaks anywhere and truck maintenance was always looked after. I bought the truck to pull an RV at 6500lbs loaded. I was thinking of purchasing an Edge evo, so I can have to tow tune, as well as being able to monitor things like tranny temp. My only question is would it be a waste of money on a truck with higher milage?

If you plan on keeping the truck for a while, a programmer is not a waste. The gains are in theory the same for a truck with 0 miles as 100000 (barring the compression is good). The Edge tow tune will work as will a custom Gryphon or SCT xcal 3 which would be a better in every aspect.

It will help you tow and like he said not a waste you can always pull it out and sell it if you get rid of the truck

He just about summed it up right there.
