OK. Call me stupid, but I'd rather be called an idiot here than anywhere else for having the wrong headlight kit in mine. What do you guys suggest that's "budget friendly"? I have just the all stock setup still, and the lenses are a little milky and foggy, so there's a definite need for a cleanup in my headlight department.

I've got a cheap $20 set of sylvania's that are pretty good. Just have to aim them right. Here's low beam. ( I have King ranch/heritage 50th anniversary lights ) they aren't lightning lights they are basically Harley lights without the reflector at the bottom.

the way I see it, I would (and have) spent$600 else where on my truck then in headlights. My PnPs do just fine for me and she still takes best in class without projector headlights. To each their own right? I've never been flashed once for them so I'll keep on truckin.

Yup, get a set of clear lens housings (Lightning - all chrome, Harley Davidson - chrome reflector with black housing). There are variations of these with some having reflectors and some not.
For bulbs, get a set of Sylvania Xtravision or GE Nighthawks. Even the standard halogen that came with my clear lens housings were better than any bulb in a fluted lens.

To each their own when it isn't a danger on the road. Haven't been flashed... very easily could be in traffic. Guy flashing you doesn't want to blind innocent drivers more than they already have. Best in class? Far from it. Especially when you have projector output like this.

Headlight housings have come a long way. Many are working fine with higher power bulbs in them. I can honestly say that I have not seen overpowering headlights in oncoming traffic in a very long time. I will say that the newer F150s with HID and the newer gm trucks with HID are close to offensive. I do like the 15+ LED headlights of the F150/Explorer and the Acura line of vehicles. Good clean light output.

I will agree with you on one point there. I'm not defending the plug and play one but at all, and the retrofits and oem projectors do actually offer useable, powerful, long distance light output. unlike the pnp. But to be honest, they're still a danger to oncoming drivers. Speaking from experience and from hearing owners say they've been flashed.

In that regard, I don't see the difference.

I think I'm gonna get rid of my headlights and redo my retrofit. I think I'm gonna just put a led bar in the headlights
