Question Who's Smart? 4.6 Engine Question

I have a 2000 Ford F150 4.6L. Im looking to see what I can do to make more hp. Id like to supercharge it but they no longer make a supercharger for the truck,so is the 99-04 mustang intake able to fit on the f150 to make a supercharger modification acceptable? or Is there another way? Thanks

Whats your reason/need for more power? What do you plan on doing with your truck that the 4.6 won't do now?

A 4.6 is a 4.6, its the exact same motor thats in the mustangs so that tells you any and all parts will interchange. Some will require some modifying and whatnot but the base is the same!

A mustang lower intake will bolt right up to the heads, pattern is the same. The 03-04 Cobra with the eaton should bolt right on as well, but don't forget all the supporting mods for it, fuel, PCM, pumps, injectors, etc.

Come to the realization that it is a car engine, it will never be a 5.4, it will always be a 2v, and you're modifying a ten year old truck. There are many bolt on mods that will add some pep to the motor. After that if you still feel forced on this one is the way to go, a procharger would be a much easier solution than modifying mustang parts.

Just get some 4.56 gears. She'll move then! It's hell of a lot cheaper then trying to squeeze hp out of a 4.6.

I can't recall the exact hp of my 1997 4.6. It was either 210 or 220 hp.
It would go 100mph.
I think that says it all!

The 4.6 isn't really a truck motor, the powerband is just too high in the rpm range. Yours is better than mine, i have a 97 4.6 with longtubes, cold air, tuner, and locker and 4.88's with 35's it moves alright so maybe just do some basic mods like that. Gears prolly the best mod..either a procharger or 4.56's would be best imo...or both..it'd move good..

PI heads would give you a extra 35hp. Add longtube headers, electric fans, CAI, and a custom tune-50hp plus.
