There should be 2 on the transmission. 1 on the input shaft, (motor/tranny) 1 on the output shaft (tranny/drive shaft) and one on the diff (drive shaft/ring gear) ((determines how fast the ring gears spinning)

There's a vehicle speed sensor, or VSS on the front the tranny, output shaft sensor, OSS on the tail shaft. Not sure wut the one on the diff is called, but that should limit your options a bit

that could be the rear diff or on the front spindle/knuckle. My suggestions would be go to ford, and talk to one of the technicians in the back

Yesterday my trucks speedometer started jumping around & it would cause the torque converter to unlock when this would happen & eventually flash the Trannny malfunction indicator light (O/D off light), so I scanned it & it just a code for the output shaft speed sensor. The dealer didnt have one in stock & said that it is probably the speed sensor on the rear diff since the speedo is bouncing. So I replaced it & the same stuff still happens. Only does it at 55mph +. I found the Output shaft sensor at NAPA yesterday, but havent installed it yet. Hopefully its the problem as Ive already spent $15 I didnt have too. This sensor was $35 so hopefully it works. Ill keep you guys posted.

Output shaft speed sensor is on the tail shaft of the transmission above the fluid pan. It's a pain an you'll really have to search for it. Drivers side. Removing the front drive shaft makes it easier I it's 4wd.
