Default Where is the oil going

I gave a 1997 V8 F150 that seems to be using oil. The only problem I don't know where it's going. I put 2 quarts in and drove about 200 miles within the past two weeks and it's a quart low. No oil in the driveway. No smoke out the back. Runs like a champ. Check engine light came on a few days ago. I will take it thus week to see what it reads. I do not drive the truck all the time Any ideas what to look for?

I will do a paper test in the morning to see if I have spots on it from the exhaust but just looking it only has some white smoke when I start it up in the morning. I assume (love that word lol) it's because it's cold outside.

Thanks in advance

Change your PCV valve. Has to be a Motorcraft valve or they WILL use oil. Nothing matches Motorcraft Spec or Margines on the market. The truck will also run like crap with aftermarket replacement valves as the wrong p[arts are saturated with oil/blowby.

That little 5 dollar valve is very important. Can save you engine long term, if you just maintenance the thing properly.

I changed my PCV valve and oil consumption stopped.

Haha oh how I love those little 5 dollar valves. Wish people understood what that system truly does. I'm sure Jbrew knows this, but if you get a change google some stuck PCV valve threads and look under the valve covers. Nothing but sludge, oil build up, moisture, and improper ventilation.

Thanks. My mechanic said I need a valve job. He's honest, but just didn't think of this. Changed my PCV 5 days ago, and oil loss stopped, and it's no longer puffing smoke when I crank in the morning.

Along the same lines of what people have said about the PVC. I recently had a check engine light and a vacuum leak. Upon replacing the hose the problem went away but it did cause me to lose a decent amount of oil in the process.
