can`t find my temperature sending unit on my 1999 f150 6 cyl??????

I have the same problem.......
dealer and suppliers tell me it has a temperature sending unit (to the guage) and a Temperature sensor to the ECM) each having 2 wire connections..
I can't find either....I do find some other sensor type of apparatus front passenger side of center dome it has I think 5 wires on it ....could this be some sort of combined unit?
Were you able to sort it out?

 

What engine? on my 4.6 they are ahead of the upper intake behind the alternator
