Default Wheels & Tires

03 F-150 XL 2WD. I have factory 16 inch wheels on it. If I bought 17 inch rims and put them on the truck, what, if any problems would occur other than worse MPGs and speedometer being a lil bit off?

No issues. Wouldn't notice. The only time your speedometer would be off would be if you drastically changed the diameter of your tire. The wheel size doesn't make a difference going from 16-17.

the size of the wheel wont change anything unless its a lot heavier than the original, but nothing noticeable. your gas mileage and speedometer depend on what size tire you plan on running. are you going with the same height tire?

No I'm gonna go with a bigger tire, but nothing bigger that would require me to put a lift on the truck. I know I can put a couple sizes bigger without any cutting or lift kit.

going bigger on tires will lower your MPG, but depending on how big, nothing to crazy. but if you do lift and start getting bigger tires then youll really notice a loss

Just going to move up to a 17 inch rim, and go stock tire size that the 03 FX4s came with. I'm hopin that would be ok.
