Looking to buy some 1.25-1.5in spacers for my 03 screw to run some 315/70/17 ATs...any brands I should stay away from? Brands you recommend? And are there any kits that actually come with the extended lug nuts or must I buy those separate?

You don't need extended lug nuts. I'd recommend bora spacers and stay away from 1.25" you'll have to cut down the factory studs because there more than 1.25" long and will protrude. 1.5" will work fine. Torque, drive, re torque, keep and eye on them and you'll be golden.

So with a 1.5in spacer I won't need new lug nuts and can just use the stock ones?
Yes, they'll send you a new set of lug nuts with the spacers, one set goes on the spacers, one set goes on the new studs. However, I'd recommend switching to acorn nuts if your running aftermarket wheels
No problem man, stick with quality spacers and keep them torqued and you'll be good. I've run everything from 1.25 to now 3" spacers without the slightest hiccup
And some of us didn't get more than a week before a tire fell off...
I personally will never buy spacers again, I'll opt for buying the right wheels instead of taking the cheap way out with spacers. If I absolutely had to run spacers, I'd throw away the lug nuts that came with them, along with the lugs in the spacers. I'd get new lug nuts and bolts.

Get outa here with that sob story bro. Don't buy Chinese spacers and torque correctly and you'll be fine. Going on 4 years and one front end accident without a failure.

What are you running. I hear mixed reviews on them.

Anyone looking into them should know both sides of the story. Wheel spacers do put a lot more weight on the hub therefore having a better chance of having a failure.
Not to mention, they where made in Canada with "North American mined and forged aircraft grade aluminum".
I think if I just threw away the lugs and lug nuts I would have been alright, but when I buy things I don't expect to have to modify them to work.
As far as torque, I always torque my lug nuts down to 100 ft-lbs (stock wheels and I did the same with the adapters), and 120 ft-lbs to attach the wheel to the adapter (14x2 lugs).
What it came down to where the lug nuts where junk (I'm sure the lugs where too, but the lug nuts stripped out and the lugs did not).
Either way I'm done half assing things and I prefer to do it the right way as it usually is cheaper in the long run. Had I just have spent the 800 bucks up front on wheels that fit my truck, I wouldn't be down the 200 on the wrong wheels, 200 on adapters, 1k in mechanical repairs, and 400 on a fender (1800). I would have saved 1k doing it the right way to begin with.
