Default wheel spacers!

hey i have a 97 f150 with a 4.6. all my suspension/tires are stock and my buddy gave me two, 1/4 in wheel spacers. i want to put them just on the front but heard stories about peoples wheels falling off. would i be safe with just spacers in the front? or would i have to put some on the back too. ohh and will it even be noticable?

IMHO I wouldn't put on wheel spacers if you gave them to me. A 1/4" wouldn't even be that noticeable. If you want your wheels to stick out I would just get some wheels with less offset.

Yeah your putting leverage on your lug nuts like a spacer would, but at least your on the mounting surface instead of a totally different set of lug nuts. More parts to fail is no good if you ask me.

I run 2inch spacers for over 6,000 miles and no problems. They put the exact same stress as I high offset wheels it's absolutely no different!

I'm running 1.5" spacers, I've had them a little over a 1,000 miles now and i've had no problems out of mine either.

I wouldnt go past 1/2 inch spacers( and make sure there spacers not the adaptor/spacers with a whole nother set of lugs. I used to run 1.5" spacer/adaptors with some 20's(275/55r20)and the offset wasnt that bad either on the rims but it made my truck burn through the front wheel bearings waaay way too fast and it had a vibration i couldnt get rid of from 55-75mph and yes the wheels were balanced and yes they were hubcentric spacers with acorn lugnuts
