Question Wheel Offset...

Ive read the complete sticky post on wheel/tire sizes and learned alot but got just one question that gives me a mind block yet. My 04 HERITAGE will have a tb crank and 2" blocks in the back and either a 2 or 3" body lift. I havent nailed down a tire size yet but Im going to go with ION 171 wheels in a 16x10 size(16 is std size on my 04) After looking at wheels they come with many diff OFFSET sizes and want to be sure to get the correct ones. Ive read all the posts about rubbing etc etc from various people but have seen others with no probs. What is the magic OFFSET number to order on these wheels??
Any good knowledge is appreciated...thanks!

I just picked up a set of 16x8 ion alloy 171 with a -5 offset from custom wheel outlet on eBay, only set I've seen but you can get them, should have them on by Monday if everything goes right

Without knowing the tire size, it's hard to say if they'll rub. I have 17x8's with 285 70's. When I had them on rims with an 18 offset they fit fine. I got some different wheels with -8 offset and they rub on the front valance. Not too bad, just a little. My tb's are cranked about 2".

The -8 offset with an 8 inch rim puts the rim about even with the fenders. In fact the fender is even with the corner of the tread where the fender curves in. With the 18 offset, the tires didn't fill the wheel wells the way I wanted. I'm not sure how 16's might vary, and tire size will make a big difference.
