Default Whats it worth?

Tranny went out in my truck and I am trying to decide if it is worth fixing or if I should cut my losses and get what I can out of it. 1998 f150 4x4 auto with 4.6. Has a 2" lift on bald 33s, 174k. Has gotts mod, flowmaster si/do, edge tuner, aftermarket cd player and subs, CB, keyless entry and alarm. Had to do the head gaskets a year ago and went through the whole engine cleaning it up and heads resurfaced. Rebuilt the rear end 2 years ago. New tranny is about $1500. Think it is worth fixing, or sell it as is and get something else?

Local wrecking yard wants $850 for a tranny, and can't give me a number for mileage... they say under 200k and less than 15k/year, so it could have 199k for all I know and the new one is only $550 more...

Put $850 in it and make back $5500 the same afternoon being a repeat Ford Customer + = 0% interest. 11 ta 12, it's time.

Definitely spring for the extra $550 for the new one.. I wouldn't take the risk on the used tranny for $850

Ya I think the 3 year warranty alone is worth the extra money
