my 01 f150 6cyl auto running like S--- . engine spits and sputters as starting out. Cats ( one front pass side ) glows red after 10 miles) Garages says I need cats, plugs, coil pack, maybe sensors blah blah blah. problem is don't have cash to cover all. What if I do plugs, coil wires now and cats later would this create any problems or damage please advise thanks


Thanks for your comments..let me add to the mess...I passed Colorado emissions inspection three weeks ago, I am told it is a good(complete) test and the second item I have FOUR cats only one the front passenger side is glowing . Will get and post codes as soon as I can My Daughter has it for a week

 

I would say your cat is pluged thats why it's going red and the truck running bad, I would start with the cat first!
