This shows the plate you can program, - they call it program anyway. You do so by changing fluid flow for 2nd, 3rd and OD. Size of the hole determines point harshness. You drill those holes yourself. The kit supplies a two headed bit.

I think the kits are different for the 4r70ws.
Yeah lol, the 4000 rpm thing was partially due to my TPS. Realistically it was about 3200-3400 after I changed the TPS.

My kit was a bit different, mostly consisting of replacement springs for valves within the valve body with some new upgraded valves, and several drill bits that required me to expand several holes on the upper plate (separator plate?) on the valve body, as well as upgraded accumulator springs. What surprised me though is that being it’s the f-150 version of the 4r70w I had to use the stock accumulator pistons, the ones they provide are aluminum, the ones in the f150’s are steel if I remember correctly. Or maybe it’s a year thing as opposed to a truck vs car application.

I’ve actually considered looking into swapping for a 4r100 just because they’re so highly praised, at least around here. I plan on building my 4.6 eventually just because I’ve become so accustomed to working on it and I like it so much, and want a stronger trans to support the kind of power I want to make. The PI versions are a dime a dozen around here, but that’s a topic for a later date lol

It's possible swap to swap in a 4R100 but it's a little work. Your PCM won't run it and will have to be modified. You'll have to run the trans thru a separate controller, a Baumann controller most likley.

Normally,- not really worth it when you can just build the 4r70w.
________

Yea, the aluminum pistons were factor in my old one. I swapped for steel. I had to order those separate I believe.

Oh yea lol, when the TPS goes south, you never know what's going happen. Mine went out on the expressway and the would down shift out of the blue. That time I got off the next ramp and changed it out in a Autozone parking lot lol.

At least when the TPS goes, you'll usually always get a CEL. Makes for an easy troubleshoot and fix.
