Default What is THIS (pic), welded to muffler clamp?

Hey all...brand new to the forums, looking for a little help.

I recently replaced a loose muffler clamp on my '04 Heritage. Was wondering what the heck this is, welded to the actual clamp (the black cylinder). It can't be too important, can it?

Thanks for your help!

You'll do better with this question in the 97-03 subforum since you have a heritage.

its a counter weight, its pretty much pointless to have all it does is reduce exhaust vibration at like 5000 RPM..mine fell off and i ended up keeping it off, its only purposed is to reduce vibration
