I'm trying out the 265/70r17 Goodyear Wrangler Authority. Got them all mounted and balanced for right about $850. Fairly aggressive tread they are between a M/T and A/T. Over all not too loud on the highway and seems to do Great in the couple of snows we just had recently.

Thanks for this thread!

I'm getting ready to buy new tires (ASAP) and I've been doing some research and I like the A/T3's.... I also like the Toyo tires.

Is the Discoverer S/T Maxx a good tire ?... I like it too!

But, I need a good PLY tire because I haul a slide-in-camper & pull a pontoon behind... Also pull a 20FT. trailer with a John Deere tractor.

Thanks!

I'm in the same boat as you. Planning on getting some new tires before I go off to college and can't decide between the toyos or trail graps

If you do any kind of towing, I would not recommend treadwrights as they are recaps. I got a good deal on my BFG ta/ko load range e 10 ply in a 285/75/16 size. The fact that they were blackwall tires and the 10 ply is what the guy at discount tire said helped the price. I got them for 220 a piece. 1150 with full warranty. I also swapped my 17" wheels for 16s and saved 50 bucks per tire.

I am surprised to see folks saying Cooper is good. I have them on my truck and hate them. I can't wait till I can afford to replace them. One is starting to separate so it won't be to long till i have to do it. I just don't like the way the truck handles with the Coopers.

I have towed over 5,000lbs with my treadwrights, no problems, I have several friends who have them and tow on a regular basis, with no problems either. Its worth remembering that these tires have to meet the exact same standards as brand new ones, as well as the fact that most big rigs use retreads too. Perfectly safe to tow on, and I would defenitly reccomend them to anyone.

I've got Falken Rocky Mountain ATS on my F-150 and Jeep Commander. I have nothing but praise for them.

Bowers, nice looking tire. Like to see how you like them after a few thousand miles and some snow/ice.
