what headers to pick
#11
I had searched around quite a bit before I pulled the plug and bought a set of shorty headers.
Longtubes really arent worth the cost unless you are racing the truck, im not talking about initial cost either... If you happen to have to do transmission work at some point, in order to drop the trans you more or less have to take the headers off, or alternatively lift the cab and front clip off the frame before getting access to it.
you are better off sticking with a shorty header, they are a bit cheaper overall but, the horsepower gain with longtubes is negligible at best, If you are looking for sound, get rid of all the cats and resonator and replace them with pipe. The stock headers on my pickup basically rusted through so I bought these and had them installed a little over 2 months ago and I have been quite happy with them so far, next step is removing the cats.

Update!! Idk if there’s a power difference with the exhaust wrap but there for sure is a big drop in the heat under the hood. I was able to dig around the engine after a long trip and the was only a few hot spots.
