What to do about Headers?

What to do about Headers?
I have a 2004 F150(Heritage) Xlt 4.6l 4x4.
Have been shopping around for some new headers and such. The truck like all f150 have a manifold with a 2 stage catalytic converter, well i belive that is what it is. I am wondering if i put headers on it, i would connect headers to the y pipe, dont know the exact name of it but the one connected both manifolds into one pipe. then would i need to run a new catalytic converter into the y pipe? I live in Canada, i dont have an emmision test but a yearly safety inpsection which checks all exhaust components.
