I like the gauge. Not sure on the difference in temperature readings (I've seen 10°, mentioned), but as you probably know the highest temp will be the trans output line. That's where I have mine, as knowing the highest temp seemed the most critical to me.

If you want to clean up the installation at some point, you can put the trans temp gauge up by the steering wheel. I'm tall, so I can usually see it over the steering wheel center without much trouble. I still have to sit up a bit, though, sometimes. It's also a tight fit in there. My gauge is in *just* the right position.

As for the brake controller, I put mine in the little "knee cubby" to the right and below the steering wheel. Visibility while driving is pretty much non-existent there, though.

Looks like you're pretty well set for camping season! A helpful hint: Keeping the torque converter locked will greatly reduce the trans fluid temps. The LED you see above and left of the gauge in the pics above is my "TC Locked" indicator. You can get used to watching the tach, but I like the LED.

Also, if your temps seem a bit high, you can install a larger transmission cooler. I installed one from an F250 when I was towing with my '99, and it dropped the temps about 30° if I remember right. If you go that route, look for one out of a V10 Excursion. They're larger than the one I got.

That's my plan, I am going to keep an eye on it and if it seems high I will add the larger cooler. The trailer I am getting is 3600 lbs dry and we will be under 4500lbs total. I was going to get a 4500lb dry one and max out at 5500 to 6k but some people on here talked me out of it. I have a 5.4 with 3.55 gears, factory towing package.

Default made a few runs tonight ,Feels pretty good !

finally got to try the new tune with the 90mm lightning Maf and logged some new data with the Wideband Air fuel added.
Torre at Unleashed has it dialed in pretty good.
I need some dyno time to see where I'm at, I'd guess 320-330 RWHP easy.Calculated Torque load was 392 ftlb around 3550 rpm. MAF maxed at 36.17#/min @ 5572 rpm

Default Lots

I recently bought a 99 supercab with a 4.6. I got it cheap because it needed work. So far I fixed the front brakes (just a missing bolt), fixed a huge vacuum leak, replaced both door locks, replaced both lock actuators, oil and filter change, found a center cap and fixed the shift indicator.
Tomorrow I'll get the buffer out and see how much I can shine it up. Then I'm going jet skiing. Gotta love Arizona
