Replaced the alternator. Starting about 3 days ago my battery light would flash sometimes. I plugged in my little volt meter and sure enough, it was sitting at 11.4-12v when running. Then at times it would jump to 14.7v for a minute then back down.
Actually pretty easy to do on this truck. Just disconnect battery, remove air intake, take belt off, remove 3 bolts on the alternator and electrical connections and take out, only used 2 sockets (8 mm and 10 mm I believe). Took maybe 1 hour total to do, including going to get the new one.

And no, I did not get a Motorcraft, I went with a new Carquest 130 amp unit. $150 total from Advance Auto. The old one was a reman, don't know where from, my cousin said he replaced it about 5 years ago, but no store had record of it for warranty.
Only thing is the one they gave me has a 8 rib pulley, not the 6 rib, but the belt fits fine.

It's nice when things just flow ehh.

It'll probably be alright, I'd keep an eye on for a little while to be sure. The alignment anyway.

The 6 rib pulley wouldn't bolt on, or did you not feel like bolting it on ? lol.

I did not realize t was the 8 rib till I was putting the belt on and had already turned in the old one for the core.
I guess I could go and get it if I really wanted, but it is fine for me.
