I jacked up the rear end today to adjust the rear drums, clean them out good and bleed the lines. I got a little more than I bargained for today; I found that one side was leaking gear lube from the axle seal. SO I replaced the seal and put everything back together and its seems to brake well.

NOW I am sitting here second guessing whether or not I installed the C clips correctly... Anyone care to weigh in on any "how to" info? The clips just dropped in to place, I pushed the axle shafts out all the way then reinstalled the center pin and lock bolt. I would think that if the C clips didn't seat all the way, I would not be able to slide the axle shafts out enough to instal the center pin. Am I over thinking this? I drove just to test the brakes up to about 20mph in the neighborhood after I put everything back together and didn't hear any clunking, ticking or any bad noises.

If the pin is in and there's no noises, the C-Clips are in correctly, can't get the pin in without fully seating the clips into their indents anyways...and you haven't lost an axle shaft....yet ?

That's good to hear and sort of what I thought but had a bit of a "moment."

And no, I haven't lost an axle shaft yet after, like I said, driving in the neighborhood at about 20 mph with plenty of turns stops and speed bumps.

Thanks for the quick reply!
